Design Something Every Day – Day 3

Today’s design is the beginning of what I hope will be a theme that I can follow for a while – T-shirt designs. I’m a big fan of internet and gaming humour t-shirts and have spent quite a lot of money at Split Reason over the last year or so. One of the great things about the site is that you can submit an idea for a t-shirt, and if they like it it might end up being sold on the site. There’s no guarantee that it’ll happen, but it’s a great way to get people involved and there’s always been that thought in the back of my head saying what if…

So now I’m going to make some t-shirt designs! I doubt I’ll submit any of them to Split Reason, but there’s always the chance that I really love one of the designs I make.

Anyways, here’s today’s effort. It’s a nice and simple attempt to start off. An image and some text on a plain background. I’m not too sure on the text, I think something a bit more exciting could be done with it but I’m at a loss right now what that might be. The design was made using a combo of Photoshop and Illustrator. I cropped out the head of the cat in Photoshop using the Magentic Lasso, and then vectorised the image in Illustrator. A very easy attempt to start.

Here we can see a cat. He’s done something hilarious and he knows it. What did he do? I’ve got no idea. Why did he do it? For the lulz, of course. It’s always for the lulz.

I did it for the lulz

John Robinson - designer, developer, coder... John’s not quite sure exactly how he should be labelled. Why not check out his blog and make a decision for yourself. He mostly talks about CSS, jQuery and the crazy world of the Interwebs, with a little bit of personal life thrown in for good measure.

If you liked this then why not share it and help make me internet famous?
