Design Something Every Day – Day 72

Special post today! It’s Mother’s Day tomorrow in the UK, and as we’re all so very commerical and fake, and need to reserve specific days for displaying any appreciation we may have for people, even when everyone knows that’s not what’s going on and that we’re just doing it out of a feeling of obligation or fear of reprisals… whew, kinda went off on one there! ANYWAYS while the obligation may be there to provide at the very least a £2.50 card bought from a high street shop with a heart felt corporate message inside, I’m not quite so useless. Doing nothing is better than that kind of attempt at humanity. So instead of that, or nothing, I make things! Things that take time and thought and effort and talent. Like the image below!

So mother, this (and the rant above I guess!) is for you. Much love!

Design Something Every Day – Day 69

Another fantastic day at work today, full of entirely pointless phonecalls from entirely pointless people. Distraction is proven to have a much greater negative effect on work flow than just the time taken up by the distraction. By the time you’ve got back to what you were doing, remembered where you were, and just started to get back in the groove… it’s time for another distraction.

Destroy all office telephones, that’s my solution. It’s an interesting idea, and is actually doable in my office environment.
